On peut partager la discographie de Gnaw Their Tongues en principalement deux genres : le noise black symphonique désespéré et le noise black metal pur et dur destiné à agresser le mental. Eschatological Scatology se situe dans le deuxième camp : c'est déjà un choc visuel avec la pochette et, si quelques "orchestrations" subsistent ("Deepwood Bodytrap", "Master I Am Done"), c'est surtout un choc musical extrême passant parfois dans le doom metal ("The Atrocious Angel of Scatology"). Le titre de cet E.P. annonce une apocalypse grandiose — The Apocalyptic Seven Headed Beast Arisen —, mais il faut croire que Mories n'a pas le temps de traîner puisqu'il ne dure même pas 30 minutes et fait exploser un chaos sonore qui prend par surprise. Aucune introduction : "Burning Blissfully" agresse directement (limite si ça ne m'a pas fait sursauter...) et cette direction musicale marque tout l'E.P. avec néanmoins quelques petites ambiances fantomatiques assez flippantes. Brutal, efficace.
